Udinese will move to replace Barcelona target Alexis Sanchez if he leaves - Francesco Guidolin
Udinese will be ready to replace Alexis Sanchez if he completes a transfer to Barcelona, claims coach Francesco Guidolin.
"I am tranquil. If the important players [Sanchez and Gokhan Inler] leave then other players will arrive, but, I repeat, only if they leave," Guidolin told the press, as reported by Tuttosport.
Sanchez is currently away at the Copa America with Chile, while earlier this week Gino Pozzo, son of Udinese owner Giampaolo, said talks were ongoing with Barcelona.
The 22-year-old Chile international was previously linked with Manchester City and Napoli, but his heart is set on a move to Camp Nou after stating his desire to head there on numerous occasions.
And although Guidolin appears resigned to losing him, the coach is hoping to keep most of his squad intact.
"I hope to have a solid group with enthusiasm next season. I want serious players here, people like Antonio Di Natale." said Guidolin.
Despite the ongoing negotiations with Barcelona, Marca.com claims the Spanish side are some €9 million short of matching Udinese's expectations.
The report suggests Barcelona are offering €26 million plus Jonathan Soriano, but Udinese want at least €35m cash.
Talks are expected to continue, with progress expected once Sanchez returns from the Copa America.
