Roma keeping tabs on Penarol's Alejandro Martinuccio - report

Versatile attacker Alejandro Martinuccio has attracted the interest of Roma with his recent performances for Uruguayan powerhouse Penarol, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The Italian outfit are looking to add to their ranks this summer and have made the capture of a new attacker one of their primary objectives.

The capital club have previously been linked with Brazilian youngsters Neymar and Leandro Damiao, but have now allegedly set their sights on Martinuccio instead.

The 23-year-old started his professional career with Nueva Chicago before joining Penarol in the summer of 2009, where he has since developed into an important first team member, attracting interest from Roma, as well as fellow Serie A side Udinese.
