Euro 2012 : Xabi Alonso (Spain vs France)

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso believes the future of the Spanish national team is still bright in the next few years.

The former Liverpool player is confident because the squad La Roja is populated by players who could arguably still young. So that they will not force too much change in the near future.

"We have made history as we have done something unique. The future looks bright for Spain," says Xabi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Only three of our players who are older than age 30 years. We will continue to have an outstanding team with a few changes. It will not be easy to stay hungry, but we have been successful so far."

"The core of this team is still the same as the last few years. We have 11 players involved in three tournaments (won), and it says it all. Everything went well without having to spend too much effort, and it is a big advantage."
