Inter striker Milito full of confidence ahead of new Serie A season

Inter forward Diego Milito is "very confident" and "charged up" as the side start their pre-season training before the new Serie A season gets underway.

It is the first time in three years that Milito has been able to start pre-season training on the first day instead of struggling with injury, something that the player himself explained "can only be a good thing."
He told Mediaset Premium: "We hope to begin next season better than how we finished the last one. The start [to the season] is crucial."

The veteran was in prolific form for Inter last season, scoring 24 goals in 33 Serie A appearances, despite the team finishing in a disappointing sixth place.

When asked about the club's ambitions for the impending season, he was hopeful the team would be challenging for top honours.

"Are we aiming for the Scudetto? We'll play for all the objectives," he revealed.

Milito also discussed two of Inter's new arrivals from his native Argentina, Matias Silvestre and Rodrigo Palacio, after they trained with the squad for the first time.

"They both have a lot of experience behind them and I see them as two players in the Inter mould," he concluded.
