Wilshere: We must beat the best to win Euro


England and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted the national side face a toughEuro 2012 group draw, but that they must beat the best sides to win the competition. Fabio Capello's side have been drawn in Group D along side co-hosts Ukraine, Sweden, and France. England recently beat Sweden 1-0 in a friendly at Wembley in November but their most recent outing their against France ended in a 2-1 defeat. The 19-year-old midfielder tweeted: "Good draw. Hard group but as I said got to beat the best to win it! Be some banter at Arsenal as well with the French lads! #Euro2012" Wilshere, who is currently side-lined with an ankle injury, is likely to be a key part of the squad that will face France in England's first game on the 11th of June. He could line-up against current team-mates Bacary Sagna and Abou Diaby and former Gunners star Samir Nasri. With England in Group D and current world champions Spain in group C, Wilshere could also test himself against former Gunners' star Cesc Fabregas in the quarter finals. Manchester United's Tom Cleverley also seemed happy with the draw, tweeting: "Ukraine Sweden France #letsdothis" Ex-United and England forward Michael Owen tweeted: "[I'll] settle for that draw."
