Sao Paulo's Xandao has spoken with Roma - agent
Xandao has met with Roma officials but the player’s manager has played down the prospect of the Sao Paulo defender moving to the Stadio Olimpico during the January transfer window.
It was reported last month that the Serie A side were tracking the 23-year-old Brazilian and the player’s representative has now confirmed that the Italians have made contact.
"It was just a chat,” Renato Figueiredo told Lancenet. “They wanted to [get to] know Xandao and we exchanged contact details.
“But there's nothing finalised and no proposal [was] made.
"Roma are in need of a centre-back.... In the near future, some business may be done. But for now, nothing.”
The towering defender has put in a string of impressive performances for Sao Paulo this season and has also previously been linked with a move to Portugal. [Goal.com]
