Roma's Luis Enrique demands consistency

Roma coach Luis Enrique says he wants to see his team expand on their 2-0 win over Serie A rivals Novara and begin to sustain their new-found form.

The Rome outfit picked up important three points on Saturday, thanks to goals from Pablo Osvaldo and Bojan, and although the former Barcelona B coach was encouraged by their display, he proceeded to reflect on the short-term impact of the victory. "[The result] is just a statistic,” the 41-year-old told reporters. “I do not think that Bojan likes to always start from the bench.

"In the first half, Novara played very physically with great pressing, but we managed to express ourselves better as they began to tire in the second half.

"I want that we always play the same way from the first minute to last, though during these delicate moments we only seem to play best when we are in advantage."

However, Luis Enrique reserved words of reassurance for substituted duo Leandro Greco and Rodrigo Taddei despite them being overshadowed by their replacements on the night.

"I congratulate Greco and Taddei, who both played great," he said. "I'm happy for the fans and the players, but we still have a long way to go."

Roma are now seventh in Serie A following their victory in Piedmont. [Goal.com]
