Inter can qualify for the Champions League last 16 by beating Trabzonspor, says Claudio Ranieri

Inter coach Claudio Ranieri hopes his side get their teeth stuck into the last 16 of the Champions League with a win over Trabzonspor on Tuesday night.

A win over the Turkish outfit will assure the Italian side of a place in the next round.

Inter have won three consecutive games in Europe after losing to Trabzonspor in matchday one in September.

Ranieri hopes to avenge the loss at San Siro, and thereby earn qualification from Group B.

"I think Trabzonspor will play a very determined game against us, but we want to assure qualification from the group phase," Ranieri told the press.

"It will not be easy though. We are playing a team who were losing to Lille, but then came back from behind.

"Trabzonspor know how to play football, they are compact and will have the crowd behind them."

Ranieri will be without Wesley Sneijder in Turkey, but there could be a chance for Diego Milito to sharpen his Champions League focus.

"Milito can give us plenty, as he is a champion with lots of experience in this competition and he can score goals," concluded Ranieri.

Inter currently have nine points in the group, while Trabzonspor are four points behind them. [Goal.com]
