Eriksen excited to face Netherlands at Euros

Denmark star Christian Eriksen has voiced his delight at the prospect of facing many of his Ajax team-mates at Euro 2012 next summer.

The Danish were drawn against the Netherlands, Germany and Portugal in Group B, meaning Eriksen could be going head-to-head with team-mates such as Gregory van der Wiel, Vurnon Anita and Siem de Jong. "Revenge against Holland is coming. Go Denmark!" the 19-year-old announced on his Twitterpage, referring to his side's 2-0 loss to the Dutch in the 2010 World Cup. He later tweeted at Ajax and Netherlands full-back Gregory van der Wiel, saying: "You don't have a chance against Portugal!" Peter Schmeichel, who won Euro 1992 with Denmark, was less bullish about his nation's chances of progression. "Oh my god what a tough draw. Holland, Portugal AND Germany," the 48-year-old announced via Twitter. The Netherlands and Denmark will play each other in Kharkiv on June 9, before going on to face Portugal and Germany in the remaining Group B fixtures. [Goal.com]
