Walter Sabatini, believes he can hold on to striker Mirko Vucinic

Roma's director of sport, Walter Sabatini, believes he can hold on to striker Mirko Vucinic - despite the player seeking a move away from the Stadio Olimpico.

Earlier this week Sabatini revealed that the 27-year-old Montenegrin had requested a move away from the club following reported interest from Juventus, Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers.

However, the Italian club have denied reports claiming dialogue has been opened with Juve over a summer transfer, and Sabatini claims that they want Vucinic to stay, though the final decision could be made by the player.

"We don’t want to sell Vucinic. Of course, we’ll have to see what he wants to do," Sabatini told Sky Sport Italia.

"The negotiations with Juventus do not exist, so it’s impossible to tell you any more about that."

Reports claim the expected arrival of Bojan Krkic from Barcelona could see mean an exit for the former Lecce man, who has a contract with the capital-based club until 2013.
