Barcelona close in on Hercules' Kiko Femenia - report

Barcelona are close to coming to an agreement to bring Hercules' winger Kiko Femenia to Camp Nou, according to Catalunya Radio.

The 20-year-old had an showed plenty of potential in the previous campaign with Hercules, despite the club's relegation and has also attracted attention from Valencia, Espanyol and Villarreal, although Barcelona's interest is said to be the strongest.

The transfer fee was originally a stumbling block with Pep Guardiola's side unwilling to meet the €10 million release clause inserted in the player's contract by the Alicante-based club.

However, it is being reported that Barcelona have increased their €4m plus a Barcelona 'B' player offer.

Femenia believes his exit from the relegated side will suit both parties.

"Leaving is out of necessity and for the good of Hercules so it would be good for both sides that I leave," the player told Spanish reporters.

The winger made 34 La Liga appearances last season, scoring one goal and grabbing six assists.
